Auli Itinerary -The Wonderland

I have listen from many people that Auli is so beautiful...and blah..blah..blah so.

Therefore, I decided to go to Auli. So I left for Rishikesh, took the bus from Kashmiri gate (Bus was pre-booked). I reached Rishikesh at 06:30 AM, then I picked an auto-rickshaw and arrived at the bus stand. After having some refreshments, I took the bus for Joshimath which was leaving at 7:00 AM. There are very few buses on this route. All the buses leave early. After 3-4 hours, the driver stopped the bus on a small Dhaba where they were serving aalu stuffed paratha. The paratha was so yummy. After a beautiful and tiring journey in the beautiful valley of the Himalayas, I reached the Joshimath at night at 9:00 PM approx.

Only a few of the restaurants were open there, everything was closed. So I started searching for Hotels. There were few people at the bus stop, they are asking for hotel rooms. So I went with one of them, the room was too small. So I decided to search for the hotel by myself. I found a good hotel a few meters ahead of the bus stop. The hotel was in front of the mounted elephant. I booked a decent room only at 600 Rs per night. I was so excited to wake up early and see the view outside my window.

After a long journey, finally, I found a comfy bed. I wake up around 7:00 AM and prepared myself for Auli. When I came outside my Hotel room, I was so amazed after seeing the beauty. I reached the ropeway ticket counter from there, I get to know the ropeway was closed for 3 days because of maintenance work, that was my bad luck.

There were some taxi drivers who were going towards Auli. After some struggle, I found a group of 3 boys and joined them. The road was fully covered with snow. We were going in a gypsy which is usually used by police. We reached Auli in about an hour.

Auli is really a winter wonderland. I can't define the beauty of the view, you should go to Auli at least once in your lifetime. I took the cable car to reach the top. It was snowing and everything was covered in snow, and it felt like I am standing in Heaven.

I had tried Skiing for the first time in my life. It's not an easy task at all but I enjoyed it a lot. After enjoying a great deal of time in the wonderland, we finally came back to the dropping location of our gypsy around 4 pm.

The taxi driver left us at the bus stand. After saying goodbye to everyone and bringing some amazing stories and memories back, I came back from wonderland. But I will never forget that beauty.

Note*- If you have a good budget you can book a hotel in Auli.

Here is my whole expense:-

Delhi to Rishikesh- Rs 500

Rishikesh to Joshimath- Rs 365

Hotel Room- Rs 600 per night

Taxi Charges- Rs 1000 to and fro (Ropeway charges are also the same)

Cable car - Rs 500 to and fro

Skiing- Rs 500 (You can bargain here I paid 350 Rs)
